HOW ABOUT THAT DRIVE DOWN HERE HEY??
Ahem. . .
The AYAC Support Team cruised into sunny Albury on Wednesday, clean and refreshed after a quick stopover in Gunning, future metropolis.
We found Chris and Ian providing the mosquitoes with the feast of a lifetime on the banks of the Murray, many days ahead of schedule as a result of a strange drought reversal. My Nan would have made it to Albury on the back of that current. Masochists among us will hope it slows down quickly, preferably reversing it's flow.
We awoke on Thursday to a media frenzy, journalists banging on the door, phones ringing off the hook. Luckily IT WAS ALL A DREAM. Reality was far more exciting. Chris' career-defining appearance on Joy's Music Hour was tempered by a grueling interview with WIN News. Thankfully they were able to squeeze us into a hectic news day that included comprehensive coverage of Albury's Carols By Candlelight.
A brief sample of the surprisingly vibrant Albury nightlife saw us off to bed at a reasonable hour, and by reasonable I mean unreasonable. A belated, and therefore brief, interview with ABC Radio on Friday morning continued the Albury media's love affair with the AYAC experience. Because AYAC is not just a much needed, wonderful new charity, it's a way of life man.
As such we continued to pillage Albury's unsuspecting residents, infecting them with AYAC as their mosquitoes were infecting us with GOD KNOWS WHAT. The debut of the AYAC barbeque, maneuvered by sausage-frying machine Luke Stanley, was a roaring success - particularly amongst the bored and disaffected loiterers that inhabit the lovely QEII Square in central Albury. The RPA film crew dropped in and gave us some street peddling tips.
The next few days will see us force 30kg of sausages upon Albury's populace, courtesy of HIGH COUNTRY MEATS.
