Welcome to the AYAC Murray River Appeal 2010-11

Welcome to the inaugural Australian Youth Against Cancer (also known as AYAC) fund raising appeal. On the 4th of December '10, AYAC founders Chris Boyd and Ian Bacon will set out from Sydney in an attempt to paddle the length of the iconic Murray River that forms the border between NSW and Victoria, and extends into South Australia. Hoping to finish the journey in little over 60 days, the boys will hike for two days, white water raft for a few more before paddling an average of 50kms a day to reach the destination of Goolwa, S.A. Traveling with them will be the Toyota Support Team. Their goal is to raise some serious dollars for the in-construction Lifehouse Centre in Sydney.

You can follow the progress of Chris, Ian and the Toyota Support team from this page, as they wind down the Murray through iconic Australian landscapes. Expect plenty of excitement whilst the team spreads the message of AYAC, as an identity for young cancer sufferers and a growing network of skilled and knowledgeable people. You'll hear a little from Chris and Ian too!
