As Chris and Ian paddled through the amazing Lake Mulwala, Luke and I had the pleasure of flying dangerously low in an 'Ultralight' aircraft courtesy of Peter at
Yarrawonga Flight Training, taking images and footage of the boys. We made them duck for cover and took these photos. Stay on the lookout for some amazing footage of this flight. It was an experience I will not forget.

The view from above Yarrawonga in the Ultralight was so special because it is an aircraft with little to no sides blocking the view from the seat. So we had virtually uninterrupted views of the surrounding area and we captured everything on two GoPro cameras. The footage is stunning. Peter, the pilot who flew the Ultralight, flew within metres of the boys and commented that he thought the boys were 'soft' for ducking for cover. I would have ducked too. But boys, you are soft. |

Dead trees in the lake
Lake Mulwala is a lake like no other. It is a shallow lake full of old trees, long dead. The trees are now home to much birdlife. Each of the trees is a home to Cockatoos and many other species. |

Paddling through a graveyard of trees
'Hot, long, no current, yet interesting and enjoyable to paddle. Like a miniature ocean.' This is how Chris described paddling through the lake. |

Huge thanks must go to Peter at Yarrawonga Flight Training. Thanks also to Helen from the Visitor Centre, and Alan, Noel and Tim from the Lake Mulwala Canoe Club. They hosted us for the evening on the 22nd and it was a fantastic night spent eating, talking and enjoying our time beside the Lake.
